On winning the toss, Gautam Gambhir, DD’s skipper, chose to field.
The first Powerplay of RR’s innings – which was the mandatory Powerplay
– was between the first and the sixth over. They scored 47, and lost three wickets.
Swapnil Asnodkar, whose four-ball innings included a boundary, scored five.
Eight balls into the match, he was caught by Tillakaratne Dilshan. Dirk Nannes
broke the 14-run stand.
Naman Ojha, whose 14-ball innings included four boundaries and a six,
scored 24. Twenty-one balls later, Amit Mishra broke the 31-run stand.
Yusuf Pathan, who faced five balls, didn’t get off the mark.
Half-a-dozen balls later, he was caught by A B de Villiers. Farveez Maharoof
broke the one-run stand.
