Yuvraj-led KXIP beat Bangalore comfortably

RCB (Shar)made three changes to their playing eleven – Rajesh Bishnoi, Karn and Dale Steyn made way for Ross Taylor, Vinay Kumar and Pankaj Singh.

KXIP made a couple of changes to their playing eleven – Taruwar Kohli and Vikramjeet Malik made way for Wilkin Mota and Ranadeb Bose.

On winning the toss, Kevin Pietersen, RCB’s skipper, chose to bat.

The first Powerplay of RCB’s innings – which was the mandatory Powerplay – was between the first and the sixth over. They scored 49, and lost three wickets.

Uthappa, who faced a ball, didn’t get off the mark. Seven balls (Rob)into the match, he was caught by Yuvraj Singh, KXIP’s skipper. Irfan Pathan broke the six-run stand.

Jesse Ryder, whose 21-ball innings included half-a-dozen boundaries, scored 32. Twenty-five balls (Abdul)later, Yusuf broke the 42-run stand.

The third-wicket pair didn’t get off the mark. Pietersen, who faced a couple of balls, didn’t open his account. A couple of balls later, he was caught by Karan Goel off the bowling of Abdulla.

RCB scored 50 off 6.1 overs (37 balls). KXIP had conceded an extra at that point.

Ten overs into the match, the drinks break was taken. RCB had scored 71 for the loss of three wickets at that point. While Jacques Kallis had scored 30, Rahul Dravid was batting on eight.

The Jamaican scored a run off the first ball, and the New Zealander scored one off the second.

A wide was conceded off the third ball, which was faced by Gayle.

It had to be bowled again, and he scored a boundary.

Fours were scored off the next two balls, and Gayle was caught by Quiney off the bowling of Khan for 13.

KKR scored 15 for the loss of a wicket off the Super Over.

Therefore, RR’s target was 16.

While Mendis bowled the Super Over for KKR, Pathan faced it for RR.

He scored a six off the first ball, a couple off the second, a six off the third, and a boundary off the fourth.

Hence, RR, who scored 18 without the loss of a wicket off four balls, won the one-over eliminator.

Sehwag-led DD beat Chennai narrowly
