Punjab lose to Warne-led RR

KXIP made one change to their playing eleven – Ramesh Powar made way for Sreesanth.

RR made no changes to their playing eleven.

On winning the toss, Kumar Sangakkara, KXIP’s skipper, chose to field.

The first Powerplay of RR’s innings – which was the mandatory Powerplay – was between the first and the sixth over. They scored 53, and lost a wicket.

Naman Ojha, whose 10-ball innings included three boundaries, scored 13. Twenty-four balls into the match, he was caught by Shalabh Srivastava. Sreesanth broke the 35-run stand.

RR scored 50 off 5.1 overs (33 balls). KXIP had conceded a couple of extras at that point.

Michael Lumb, whose 30-ball innings included seven boundaries, scored 41. Twenty-four balls after Ojha’s dismissal, he was stumped by Sangakkara. Piyush Chawla broke the 25-run stand.
