KKR made a couple of changes to their playing eleven – Laxmi Ratan
Shukla and Rohan Gavaskar made way for Cheteshwar Pujara and Ashok Dinda.
On winning the toss, Shane Warne, RR’s skipper, chose to bat.
The first Powerplay of RR’s innings – which was the mandatory Powerplay
– was between the first and the sixth over. They scored 56, and lost a couple
of wickets.
RR’s openers didn’t get off the mark. Michael Lumb, who faced a ball, didn’t
open his account. A ball into the match, he was trapped leg before wicket by
Dinda.
Fazal, whose 23-ball innings included half-a-dozen boundaries, scored
31. Twenty-nine balls later, he was caught by Pujara. Shane Bond broke the 42-run
stand.
RR scored 50 off 5.5 overs (35 balls). KKR had conceded three extras at
that point.
The third-wicket pair put on 30. Naman Ojha, whose 18-ball innings included
five boundaries, scored 27. Twenty balls after Fazal’s dismissal, Angelo Mathews
and Murali Kartik ran him out.
RR scored 100 off a dozen overs (72 balls). KKR had conceded five extras
at that point.
Yusuf Pathan, whose 14-ball innings included a couple of boundaries,
scored 15. Twenty-eight balls after Ojha’s dismissal, he was caught by Brad
Hodge. Dinda broke the 33-run stand.
Abhishek, the player of the match, scored 45. His 36-ball innings included
five boundaries. Twenty-five balls (Jhunjhunwa)later, he was caught by Sourav
Ganguly. Ishant Sharma broke the 37-run stand.
Voges, whose 22-ball innings included a couple of boundaries and as many
sixes, scored 37. He was unbeaten.
Paras Dogra, who faced a ball, didn’t get off the mark. A couple of
balls after Jhunjhunwala’s dismissal, he was caught by Wriddhiman Saha. Sharma
broke the one-run stand.
Warne, who faced a couple of balls, scored a run. Five balls later, he
was called by Manoj Tiwary. Bond broke the three-run stand.
RR scored 150 off 18.5 overs (113 balls). KKR had conceded half-a-dozen extras
at that point.
Munaf Patel, who faced three balls, scored four. He was unbeaten.
KKR eventually conceded eight extras. RR scored 168 for the loss of
seven wickets off 20 overs.
Hodge, who bowled a wicketless over, conceded 12.
Mathews, who bowled three wicketless overs, conceded 33.
Kartik, who bowled four wicketless overs, conceded 25.
Sharma, Bond and Dinda bowled four overs each, picking up a couple of
scalps apiece. They conceded 33, 32, and 28, respectively.

– was between the first and the sixth over. They scored 38, and lost a wicket.
Tiwary, whose 13-ball innings included a couple of boundaries, scored
11. Three overs into the chase, Pathan broke the 18-run stand.
KKR scored 50 off eight overs (48 balls). RR had conceded an extra at
that point.
The second-wicket pair put on 50 off 45 balls. While Hodge’s contribution
to the partnership was 21, Pujara’s contribution to it was 29. Extras didn’t contribute
to the partnership.
Pujara, whose 25-ball innings included four boundaries, eventually (Trive)didn’t
add to the aforementioned score. Forty-six balls after Tiwary’s dismissal, Siddharth
broke the 50-run partnership.
Hodge, whose 34-ball innings included three boundaries, eventually
scored 36. Twenty-one balls later, Pathan broke the 27-run stand.
KKR scored 100 off 15.1 overs (91 balls). RR had conceded three extras
at that point.
Owais Shah, whose 17-ball innings included a couple of sixes, scored 19.
Thirty-one balls after Hodge’s dismissal, he was caught by Voges. Patel broke
the 37-run stand.
The fifth-wicket pair didn’t get off the mark. Mathews, who didn’t face

RR eventually conceded five extras. KKR, who scored 134 for the loss of

Tait and Warne bowled four wicketless overs apiece. While the former
conceded 29, the latter conceded 27.
Patel bowled three overs, conceding 20. He picked up a wicket, as did
Trivedi, who bowled four overs, conceding 26.
Pathan bowled four overs, conceding 23. He picked up two scalps.
