MI (Moham)made seven changes to their playing eleven – Jean-Paul Duminy, Ashraful, Ajinkya Rahane, Abhishek Nayar, Pinal Shah, Dhawal Kulkarni and Rahil Shaikh made way for Aditya Tare, Saurabh Tiwary, Ambati Rayudu, Rajagopal Sathish, Ryan McLaren, Zaheer Khan and Ali Murtaza.

On winning the toss, Sachin Tendulkar, MI’s skipper, chose to bat.

Jayasuriya, whose 14-ball innings included three boundaries and a six,
scored 23. Twenty-one balls into the match, he was trapped leg before wicket by
