RCB made no changes to their playing eleven.
MI made three Cha(nda)nges to their playing eleven – Madan, Dwayne Bravo
and Ali Murtaza made way for Ryan McLaren (the player of the match), Abhishek
Nayar and Aditya Tare.
On winning the toss, Anil Kumble, RCB’s skipper, chose to field.
The start of play was delayed.
The first Powerplay of MI’s innings – which was the mandatory Powerplay
– was between the first and the sixth over. They scored 34, and lost a wicket.
Tendulkar, MI’s skipper, scored 18. His 19-ball (Sach)innings included
three boundaries. Half-a-dozen overs into the match, he was caught by Ross
Taylor. Jacques Kallis broke the 34-run stand.
MI scored 50 off as many balls (8.2 overs). RCB had conceded five extras
at that point.
The second-wicket pair put on 50 off 33 balls. While McLaren’s contribution
to the partnership was a dozen, Ambati Rayudu’s contribution to it was 31.
Extras’ contribution to the partnership was nine.
MI scored 100 off 12.4 overs (76 balls). RCB had conceded a dozen extras
at that point.
Rayudu, whose 27-ball innings included three boundaries and four sixes,
eventually scored 46. Forty-one balls after Tendulkar’s dismissal, he was
caught by Kallis, who broke the 69-run partnership.
Kieron Pollard, whose seven-ball innings included three sixes, scored
20. Fourteen balls later, he was trapped leg before wicket by Kumble, who broke
the 35-run stand.
McLaren, whose 42-ball (Kev)innings included four boundaries, eventually

Jean-Paul Duminy, whose 19-ball innings included three boundaries and as
many sixes, scored 42. He was unbeaten, as was Nayar, who scored nine. His
seven-ball innings included a boundary.
MI scored 191 for the loss of four wickets off 20 overs.
Vinay Kumar bowled three overs, conceding 26. He was wicketless, as were
Pankaj Singh and Dale Steyn, who bowled four overs apiece. While the former
conceded 54, the latter conceded 18.
Pietersen bowled an over, conceding 10. He picked up a wicket, as did
Kumble, who bowled four overs, conceding 38.
Kallis bowled four overs, conceding 41. He picked up a couple of scalps.

Harbhajan Singh broke the 27-run stand.
Pietersen, whose 16-ball innings included a boundary and a six, scored
21. Ten balls later, he was caught by Saurabh Tiwary. Harbhajan broke the
14-run stand.
Robin Uthappa, who faced half-a-dozen balls, scored four. Three balls
later, he was caught by Nayar. Pollard broke the two-run stand.
Taylor, who faced 11 balls, scored nine. Twenty-one balls later, he was
caught by Harbhajan. Fernando broke the 23-run stand.
RCB scored 100 off 15.1 overs (91 balls). MI had conceded a couple of extras
at that point.
Steyn, who faced a couple of balls, didn’t get off the mark. Seven balls
after Taylor’s dismissal, Khan broke the 10-run stand.
Virat Kohli, whose 24-ball innings included four boundaries and a six,
scored 37. Fifteen balls later, he was caught by Tare. Pollard broke the 16-run
stand.
Vinay, whose 12-ball innings included a boundary, was unbea‘ten’.
Pankaj, who faced a couple of balls, scored a run. Four balls after Kohli’s
dismissal, he was caught by Khan. Pollard broke the run-a-ball stand.
Kumble, who faced three balls, scored a run. He was unbeaten.
MI eventually conceded five extras. RCB, who scored 134 for the loss of
nine wickets off 20 overs, lost by 57 runs.
Each of the five bowlers bowled four overs apiece.
Khan and McLaren picked up a wicket apiece. While the former conceded
30, the latter conceded 21.
Harbhajan and Fernando picked up two wickets apiece. While the former conceded
28, the latter conceded 24.
Pollard conceded 28, picking up three scalps.
RCB advanced to the playoffs.
