On winning the toss, Kumar Sangakkara, DC’s skipper, chose to bat.
The first Powerplay of DC’s innings – which was the mandatory Powerplay
– was between the first and the sixth over. They scored 43, and lost a wicket.
Shikhar Dhawan, who faced five balls, scored eight. His innings included
a couple of boundaries. Nine balls into the match, Irfan Pathan broke the
14-run stand.
DC scored 50 off seven overs (42 balls). DD had conceded three extras at
that point.
The second-wicket pair put on 50 off 39 balls. While the contribution of
Sunny Sohal, the player of the match, to the partnership was 15, Sangakkara’s
contribution to it was 34. Extras’ contribution to the partnership was three.
DC scored 100 off 11 overs (66 balls). DD had conceded three extras at
that point.
Sangakkara, whose 35-ball innings included eight boundaries and a six,
scored 49. Sixty-three balls after Dhawan’s dismissal, he was caught by Aaron

Sohal, whose 41-ball innings included eight boundaries and a six,
eventually scored 62. Sixteen balls later, he was caught by Finch. Shahbaz

Bharat Chipli, who faced three balls, scored five. He was unbeaten.
DC scored 168 for the loss of four wickets off 20 overs.
Nagar bowled an over, conceding 13. He was wicketless, as was Morkel,
who bowled four overs, conceding 31.
Nadeem bowled three overs, conceding 24. He picked up a scalp, as did
Hopes, Dinda and Pathan, who bowled four overs apiece. They conceded 36, 33,
and 28, respectively.

was caught by Sangakkara. Harmeet broke the run-a-ball stand.
The fourth-wicket pair put on 50 off 39 balls. While David Warner’s
contribution to the partnership was 22, Venugopal Rao’s contribution to it was
21. Extras’ contribution to the partnership was nine.
Warner’s half-century – which included five boundaries and a six – came
off 44 balls.
Rao, whose 23-ball innings included three boundaries, didn’t add to the
aforementioned score. Forty balls after Finch’s dismissal, he was caught by
Christian. Amit Mishra broke the 52-run partnership.
Warner, whose 48-ball innings included five boundaries and a six,
eventually scored 51. Eleven balls later, he was caught by Dwaraka Ravi Teja.
Dhawan broke the nine-run stand.

Pathan, who faced nine balls, scored five. Eleven balls after Warner’s

Nagar, whose 11-ball innings included a boundary and a couple of sixes,
scored 23. Twenty balls after Pathan’s dismissal, Christian broke the 32-run

because he picked up a wicket.
Pragyan bowled three overs, conceding 21. He picked up a wicket.
Mishra bowled four overs, conceding 28. He picked up a wicket.
Christian and Harmeet bowled four overs each, picking up two scalps
apiece. While the former conceded 38, the latter conceded 27.
