KKR made no changes to their playing eleven.
KTK made one change to their playing eleven – Thisara Perera made way
for his compatriot, Muttiah Muralitharan.
On winning the toss, Gautam Gambhir, KKR’s skipper, chose to field.
The first Powerplay of KTK’s innings – which was the mandatory Powerplay
– was between the first and the sixth over. They scored 45, without the loss of
a wicket.
Brendon McCullum, whose 19-ball (Eo)innings included a couple of boundaries
and a six, scored 23. Seven overs into the match, he was caught by Morgan. Shakib
Al Hasan broke the 49-run stand.
KTK scored 50 off 7.1 overs (43 balls). KKR had conceded a couple of
extras at that point.
Mahela Jayawardene, KTK’s skipper and the player of the match, scored

The ninth-wicket pair put on 20. Rajat Bhatia, whose eight-ball innings included
a boundary, scored 10. Fourteen balls later, Patel and Jadhav ran him out.
Abdulla, whose nine-ball innings included a boundary, scored a dozen. He
was unbeaten, as was Balaji, who faced a ball, scoring a run.
KTK eventually conceded 11 extras. KKR, who scored 126 for the loss of
nine wickets off 20 overs, lost by half-a-dozen runs.
Each of the five bowlers bowled four overs apiece.
Powar, Vinay and Muralitharan picked up a wicket apiece. They conceded
29, 21, and 18, respectively.
Rudra Pratap and Jadeja conceded 25, and picked up two scalps apiece.
