Neither CSK nor RCB made any changes to their playing eleven.
On winning the toss, Mahendra Singh Dhoni, CSK’s skipper, chose to
field.
The first Powerplay of RCB’s innings – which was the mandatory Powerplay
– was between the first and the sixth over. They scored 44, and lost a wicket.

balls into the match, he was trapped (Gay)leg before wicket by Ravichandran
Ashwin, who broke the 30-run stand.
RCB scored 50 off 6.5 overs (41 balls). CSK had conceded nine extras at that
point.

Bollinger. Dwayne Br(av)oke the 35-run stand.

Seventeen balls later, he was caught by Murali Vijay. Shadab Jakati broke the
20-run stand.

that point.
Luke Pomersbach, whose 18-ball innings included a couple of boundaries and
as many sixes, scored 29. Twenty-nine balls after de Villiers’ dismissal,
Bollinger broke the 48-run stand.

extras at that point.
Virat Kohli’s half-century – which included five boundaries and a six –
came off 36 balls.
He eventually scored 70 off 44 balls, which included the aforementioned
number of boundaries, in addition to three sixes. He was unbeaten, as was
Saurabh Tiwary, who scored nine. His six-ball innings included a boundary.
CSK eventually conceded 14 extras. RCB scored 175 for the loss of four
wickets off 20 overs.
Suresh Raina, who bowled an over, conceded eight. He was wicketless, as
was Albie Morkel, who bowled four overs, conceding 40.
Bravo, who bowled three overs, conceded 28. He picked up a wicket, as
did Jakati, Ashwin and Bollinger, who bowled four overs apiece. They conceded
37, 33, and 20, respectively.
The first Powerplay of CSK’s innings – which was the mandatory Powerplay
– was between the first and the sixth over. They scored 25, and lost a couple
of wickets.
Michael Hussey didn’t open his account. Zaheer Khan had a reason to be
in seventh heaven – he trapped him leg be‘four’ wicket, breaking the three-run
stand.
Vijay, whose run-a-ball innings included a boundary, scored five. Three
balls later, he was trapped leg be‘four’ wicket by Sreenath Aravind.
CSK scored 50 off nine overs (55 balls). RCB had conceded five extras at
that point.
The third-wicket pair put on 50 off 52 balls. While Raina’s contribution
to the partnership was 24, Subramaniam Badrinath’s contribution to it was 28.
Extras’ contribution to the partnership was three.
Badrinath, whose 32-ball innings included five boundaries, eventually
scored 34. Fifty-seven balls after
Vijay’s dismissal, he was caught by Aravind. Abhimanyu Mithun broke the 63-run
partnership.
CSK scored 100 off 14.1 overs (87 balls). The number of extras they had
conceded at that point gave no reason to be in seventh heaven.
Raina’s half-century – which included four boundaries and as many sixes
– came off 41 balls.
The fourth-wicket pair put on 50 off 32 balls. While Raina’s
contribution to the partnership was 29, Dhoni’s contribution to it was 23.

boundaries and half-a-dozen sixes, eventually scored 73. He was unbeaten.

dismissal, he was caught by Mithun. Khan broke the 621-run partnership.

at that point. That was, incidentally, the number of extras they eventually
conceded.
Morkel, whose innings included a boundary and three sixes, scored 28. He
was unbea‘ten’.
CSK, who scored 177 for the loss of four wickets off 19.4 overs, won by

42.

up a wicket apiece.
Khan, who bowled four overs, conceded 31. He picked up a couple of
scalps.
