Sangakkara, Ankit, Rusty Theron and Manpreet Gony made way for Christian,
Bharat Chipli, Dale Steyn (the player of the match), and Veer Pratap Singh.
On winning the toss, Harbhajan Singh, MI’s skipper, chose to field.
The first Powerplay of DC’s innings – which was the mandatory Powerplay
– was between the first and the sixth over. They scored 38, and lost a wicket.
Parthiv Patel, whose 18-ball innings included a boundary and a six,
scored 19. Thirty-three balls into the match, he was caught by Munaf. Rudra Pratap
Singh broke the 37-run stand.
Ishank Jaggi had no reason to be in seventh heaven – he scored just a
couple. Eleven balls later, he was caught by Munaf. Harbhajan broke the
four-run stand.
Cameron White, DC’s skipper, faced a ball, failing to get off the mark.
Five balls later, he was caught by Rudra Pratap. Lasith Malinga broke the
three-run stand.
Jean-Paul Duminy, whose 24-ball innings included three boundaries,
scored 25. He was unbeaten.
DC scored 50 off 9.3 overs (57 balls). MI had conceded four extras at
that point.
Shikhar Dhawan, whose 32-ball innings included three boundaries, scored
29. Eighteen overs after White’s dismissal, he was stumped by Dinesh Karthik.
Harbhajan broke the 15-run stand.
Christian, whose run-a-ball innings included a boundary, scored five. Half-a-dozen
balls later, he was caught by Rohit Sharma. James Franklin broke the five-run
stand.
Chipli, who faced three balls, scored a run. Five balls later, he was
caught by Harbhajan. Franklin broke the two-run stand.
Ashish Reddy, whose run-a-ball innings included a six, scored 10. Fourteen
balls later, he was caught by Rohit. Munaf broke the 16-run stand.
Amit Mishra, who faced half-a-dozen balls, scored a run. Ten balls
later, he was caught by Franklin. Malinga broke the eight-run stand.

that point. That was, incidentally, the number of extras they eventually

Steyn, who faced five balls, scored three. Nine balls after Mishra’s
dismissal, he was caught by Malinga, who broke the 10-run stand.
The last-wicket pair didn’t get off the mark. Veer Pratap, who faced a
ball, didn’t open his account. The next ball, he was caught by Sharma off the
bowling of Malinga.
DC were bundled out for 100 off 18.4 overs.
Robin Peterson, who bowled a wicketless over, conceded eight.
Rudra Pratap, who bowled three overs, conceded 20. He picked up a
wicket, as did Munaf, who bowled four overs, conceding 23.
Franklin, who bowled three overs, conceded 18. He picked up a couple of
wickets, as did Harbhajan, who bowled four overs, conceding 13.
Malinga, who bowled 3.4 overs, conceded 16. He picked up four scalps.

Ambati Rayudu, whose 15-ball innings included a couple of boundaries,
scored 19. He was unbeaten, as was Peterson, who faced five balls, scoring just
a run.

In fact, MI, who scored 101 for the loss of five wickets off 18.1 overs,
won by five wickets with 11 balls to spare.

Duminy bowled an over, conceding eight. He picked up a wicket.
