RCB (Moham)made changes to their playing eleven – Arun Karthik and Rudra Pratap Singh made way for Jamaluddin Syed and Jaydev Unadkat, the player of the match.
DD made three changes to their playing eleven – Chidhambaram Gautam,
Ajit Agarkar and Pawan Negi made way for Unmukt Chand, Irfan Pathan, and
Shahbaz Nadeem.
On winning the toss, David Warner, DD’s skipper, chose to field.
The first Powerplay of RCB’s innings – which was the mandatory Powerplay
– was between the first and the sixth over. They scored 40, and lost a couple
of wickets.
Chris Gayle had no reason to be in seventh heaven – he scored four. His
runs came by way of a boundary. Thirteen balls into the match, Irfan Pathan
broke the six-run stand.
Cheteshwar Pujara, whose run-a-ball innings included three boundaries,
scored 17. Three overs later, Siddarth Kaul broke the 26-run stand.
RCB scored 50 off 7.3 overs (46 balls). DD had conceded two extras at
that point.
The third-wicket pair put on 50 off 41 balls. While the contribution of Virat
Kohli, RCB’s skipper, to the partnership was 24, Moises Henriques’ contribution
to it was 23. Extras’ contribution to the partnership was three.
Henriques, whose 22-ball innings included three boundaries, eventually scored
26. Fifty balls after Pujara’s dismissal, he was caught by Nadeem, who broke
the 57-run partnership.

Kohli’s half-century – which included half-a-dozen boundaries – came off

The fourth-wicket pair eventually put on 94. Kohli, whose 58-ball
innings included 10 boundaries and four sixes, eventually scored 99. Forty
balls after Henriques’ dismissal, Ben Rohrer and Kedar Jadhav ran him out.
De Villiers, whose 17-ball innings included a couple of boundaries and as
many sixes, eventually scored 32. He was unbeaten.

Umesh Yadav and Morne Morkel were wicketless. While the former conceded

Umesh, who faced a ball, scored a boundary. He was unbeaten.
RCB eventually conceded 11 extras. DD, who scored 179 for the loss of
seven wickets off 20 overs, lost by four runs.
Syed Mohammad and Gayle bowled a wicketless over apiece. While the
former conceded 20, the latter conceded eight.
Ravi Rampaul and Murali Kartik bowled four wicketless overs apiece.
While the former conceded 35, the latter conceded 21.
Henriques bowled two overs, conceding 21. He picked up a wicket, as did
Vinay, who bowled four overs, conceding 43.
Unadkat bowled four overs, conceding 25. He picked up five scalps.
