KKR made a couple of Cha(wla)nges to their playing eleven – Shakib Al Hasan and Piyush made way for Chris Lynn (the player of the match) and Umesh Yadav.
RCB made a couple
of changes to their playing eleven – Nic Maddinson and Sachin Rana made way for
Yogesh Takawale and Muttiah Muralitharan.
On winning the
toss, Virat Kohli, RCB’s skipper, chose to field.
The first Powerplay of KKR’s innings – which was the mandatory Powerplay
– was between the first and the sixth over. They scored 42, and lost a couple
of wickets.
Gautam Gambhir, KKR’s skipper, faced three balls, failing to open his
account. Three balls into the match, he was trapped leg before wicket by Mitchell
Starc, who broke the one-run stand.
Manish Pandey, whose three-ball innings included a boundary, scored five.
Five balls later, he was caught by Kohli. Albie Morkel broke the nine-run
stand.
KKR scored 50 off 6.3 overs (39 balls). RCB had conceded an extra at
that point.
The third-wicket pair put on 50 off 37 balls. While Jacques Kallis’
contribution to the partnership was 16, Lynn’s contribution to it was 38.
Extras’ contribution to the partnership was a run.

eventually scored 45. Sixty-one balls after Pandey’s dismissal, he was caught
by A B de Villiers. Aaron broke the 80-(Va)run partnership.

conceded at that point gave KKR no reason to be in seventh heaven. But that was,
incidentally, the number of extras they eventually conceded.

Suryakumar’s dismissal, he was caught by Albie. Starc broke the 21-run stand.

to the partnership was 27, Yuvraj Singh’s contribution to it was 32. Extras’
