On winning the toss, Virat Kohli, RCB’s skipper, chose to bat.
The first Powerplay of RCB’s innings – which was the
mandatory Powerplay – was between the first and the sixth over. They scored 31,
and lost a wicket.
Kohli, who faced nine balls, scored four. His runs came by
way of a boundary. Fifteen balls into the match, he was caught by Rajat Bhatia.
Kane Richardson broke the six-run stand.
Chris Gayle, whose 25-ball (Prav)innings included three
boundaries, scored 19. Thirty-one balls later, he was caught by Sanju Samson.
Tambe broke the 32-run stand.
Zol, whose 14-ball innings included three boundaries,
scored 16. Three balls later, he was caught by Shane Watson, RR’s skipper.
Tewatia broke the two-run stand.
RCB scored 50 off 9.3 overs (57 balls). RR hadn’t conceded
any extras at that point.
The fourth-wicket pair put on 50 off 32 balls. While A B
de Villiers’ contribution to the partnership was 11, Yuvraj Singh’s
