SRH made a couple
of (Fin)changes to their playing eleven – Aaron and Irfan Pathan made way for Srikkanth
Anirudha and Jason Holder.
On winning the
toss, Gautam Gambhir, KKR’s skipper, chose to field.
The first
Powerplay of SRH’s innings – which was the mandatory Powerplay – was the first
and the sixth over. They scored 49, and lost a wicket.
David Warner, who
faced a couple of balls, scored four. His runs came by way of a boundary. A
couple of balls into the match, Morne Morkel broke the five-run stand.
SRH scored 50 off 6.1
overs (37 balls). KKR had conceded 14 extras at that point.
The second-wicket
pair put on 50 off 37 balls. While Shikhar Dhawan’s contribution to the partnership
was 23, Naman Ojha’s contribution to it was 16. Extras’ contribution to the
partnership was 14.
Naman, whose
23-ball innings included five boundaries and a six, eventually scored 26. Forty-six
balls after Warner’s dismissal, he was caught by Ryan ten Doeschate, who broke
the 64-run partnership.
The third-wicket
pair put on 20. Shikhar, whose 31-ball (Rob)innings included five boundaries,
eventually scored 29. Twenty-six balls later, Manish Pandey and Uthappa ran him
out.
SRH scored 100 off
13.5 overs (83 balls). KKR had conceded 18 extras at that point.
The fourth-wicket
pair put on 32. Venugopal Rao, whose 26-ball innings included four boundaries,
scored 27. Sixteen balls after Shikhar’s dismissal, Manish and Uthappa ran him
out.
Anirudha, who
faced five balls, scored three. Nine balls later, he was stumped by Uthappa.
Shakib Al Hasan broke the six-run stand.
SRH scored 150 off
19.1 overs (115 balls). KKR had conceded 20 extras at that point.
The sixth-wicket
pair put on 28. Holder, whose 12-ball innings included a couple of boundaries
and a six, scored 16. Eighteen balls after Anirudha’s dismissal, Uthappa and
Vinay Kumar ran him out.
The seventh-wicket
pair didn’t get off the mark. Daren Sammy, whose 19-ball innings included a
boundary and three sixes, scored 29. The next ball, he was caught by Shakib off
the bowling of Vinay.
Karn Sharma, whose
two-ball innings included a boundary, scored five. He was unbeaten, as was
Parvez Rasool, who didn’t face a ball.
KKR eventually
conceded 21 extras. SRH scored 160 for the loss of seven wickets off 20 overs.
Umesh Yadav, who
bowled three overs, conceded 32. He was wicketless, as was Sunil, who bowled
four overs, conceding N(ar)ineteen.
Ryan ten
Doeschate, who bowled an over, had a reason to be in seventh heaven – he picked
up a scalp, as did Vinay, Morne, and Shakib, who bowled four overs apiece. In
fact, Morne’s and Shakib’s spells included a maiden apiece. They conceded 32,
32, and 25, respectively.

The fourth-wicket
pair put on a run. Ten Doeschate, who faced a ball, didn’t get off the mark. A
couple of balls later, Naman and Sammy ran him out.
KKR scored 100 off
11 overs (68 balls). SRH had conceded three extras at that point.
Shakib, who faced
five balls, scored a run. Fourteen balls after ten Doeschate’s dismissal, he
was caught by Holder. Karn broke the 38-run stand.
Yusuf Pathan, the
player of the match, scored 50 off 15 balls, which included three boundaries
and five sixes.
KKR scored 150 off
13.4 overs (84 balls). SRH had conceded four extras at that point.
Yusuf, whose
22-ball innings included five boundaries and seven sixes, eventually scored 72.
Eleven balls after Shakib’s dismissal, he was caught by Shikhar. Karn broke the
37-run stand.
Suryakumar Yadav,
whose five-ball innings included a boundary and a six, scored a dozen. He was
unbeaten, as was Vinay, who didn’t face a ball.
SRH eventually
conceded five extras. KKR, who scored 161 for the loss of half-a-dozen wickets
off 14.2 overs, won by four wickets with 34 balls to spare.

Bhuvneshwar bowled

Steyn bowled four wicketless

Holder bowled
three overs, conceding 35. He picked up a wicket.
