RCB made no changes to their playing eleven.
SRH made a couple of changes to their playing eleven – Parvez
Rasool and Ishant (Shar)made way for Ashish Reddy and Praveen Kumar.
On winning the toss, David Warner, SRH’s skipper and the
player of the match, chose to field.
The first Powerplay of RCB’s innings – which was the
mandatory Powerplay – was between the first and the sixth over. They
scored 47, and lost a wicket.
Chris Gayle, whose 16-ball innings included three
boundaries and a six, scored 21. Thirty-three balls into the match, he was
caught by Reddy. Praveen broke the 43-run stand.
RCB scored 50 off half-a-dozen overs (36 balls). SRH had
conceded 10 extras at that point.
Dinesh Karthik, whose 11-ball innings included a boundary,
scored nine. Twenty-eight balls after Gayle’s dismissal, he was caught by Kane
Williamson. Karn Sharma broke the 34-run stand.
Virat Kohli, RCB’s skipper, scored 41. His 37-ball innings
included four boundaries and a couple of sixes. Ten balls later, Ravi Bopara
broke the 16-run stand.
The fourth-wicket pair didn’t get off the mark. Mandeep
Singh, who faced a ball, didn’t open his account. The next ball, he was caught
by Warner off the bowling of Bopara.
RCB scored 100 off 13.3 overs (81 balls). SRH had conceded
11 extras at that point.
Daren Sammy, who faced nine balls, scored half-a-dozen.
Four overs later, Reddy broke the 32-run stand.
RCB scored 150 off 18.1 overs (109 balls). SRH had
conceded 15 extras at that point.
A B de Villiers, whose 28-ball innings included five
boundaries and a couple of sixes, scored 46. Fourteen balls after Sammy’s
dismissal, he was caught by Shikhar. Trent Boult broke the 27-run stand.
The seventh-wicket pair didn’t get off the mark. Sean
Abbott, whose nine-ball innings included a boundary and a six, scored 14. The
next ball, he was caught by Karn off the bowling of Boult.
Harshal Patel, who faced a couple of balls, scored as
many. A couple of balls later, he was caught by Williamson. Boult broke the
three-run stand.
Varun Aaron, who faced three balls, scored half-a-dozen.
His runs came by way of a six. Four balls later, Bhuvneshwar Kumar broke the
10-run stand.
Abu Nechim, who faced a couple of balls, scored four. His
runs came by way of a boundary. A couple of balls later, Bhuvneshwar broke the
one-run stand.
Yuzvendra Chahal, who faced a ball, scored a run. He was
unbeaten.
SRH eventually conceded 16 extras. RCB were dismissed for
166 off 19.5 overs.
Reddy, who bowled an over, conceded 11. He picked up a
wicket, as did Praveen and Karn, who bowled four overs apiece. While the former
conceded 34, the latter conceded 20.
Bopara, who bowled three overs, conceded 31. He picked up two
wickets, as did Bhuvneshwar, who bowled 3.5 overs, conceding 30.
Boult, who bowled four overs, conceded 36. He picked up
three scalps.
The first Powerplay of SRH’s innings – which was the

scored 65, without the loss of a wicket.
SRH’s openers put on 50 off 4.2 overs (26 balls). RCB had conceded an
extra at that point. While Warner’s contribution to the partnership was 34,
Shikhar’s contribution to it was 16.
Warner’s half-century – which included half-a-dozen boundaries
and three sixes – came off 24 balls.
He eventually scored 57 off 27 balls, which included the
aforementioned number of boundaries, in addition to four sixes. Forty-seven
balls into the chase, he was trapped leg before wicket by Chahal, who broke the
82-run partnership.
SRH scored 100 off 10.4 overs (64 balls). RCB had conceded
five extras at that point.
The third-wicket pair put on 50 off 39 balls. While
Shikhar’s contribution to the partnership was 16, Lokesh Rahul’s contribution to
it was 30. Extras’ contribution to the partnership was four.
SRH scored 150 off 16.3 overs (99 balls). RCB had conceded
14 extras at that point.
Shikhar’s half-century – which included four boundaries
and a couple of sixes – came off 41 balls.
He eventually faced 42 balls, failing to add to the
aforementioned score. He was unbeaten.
Williamson, who faced nine, scored five. A dozen balls
after Warner’s dismissal, he was stumped by Karthik. Chahal broke the 12-run
stand.
Rahul, whose 28-ball innings included four boundaries and
a six, eventually scored 44. He was unbeaten.
RCB eventually conceded 16 extras. SRH, who scored 172 for
the loss of a couple of wickets off 17.2 overs, won by eight wickets with 16
balls to spare.
Harshal, Abbott, and Sammy bowled a couple of wicketless
overs apiece. They conceded 23, 21, and 18, apiece.
Aaron, who bowled 3.2 wicketless overs, conceded 36.
Nechim, who bowled four wicketless overs, conceded 41.
Chahal, who bowled four overs, conceded 28. He picked up both
the wickets to fall.
