DD (Moham)made three changes to their playing eleven – the Pakistani duo
(Shoaib Malik and Asif) and Manoj Tiwary made way for the Sri Lankan pair (Tillakaratne
Dilshan and Farveez Maharoof) and Amit Mishra.
On winning the toss, Shane Warne, RR’s skipper, chose to field.
The first Powerplay of DD’s innings – which was the mandatory Powerplay
– was between the first and the sixth over. They scored 47, and lost a wicket.
Virender Sehwag, DD’s skipper, scored 17. His 20-ball innings included a
couple of boundaries. Half-a-dozen balls into the match, he was caught by
Mohammad Kaif. Shane Watson broke the 47-run stand.
DD scored 50 off 6.2 overs (38 balls). RR had conceded four extras at
that point.
The second-wicket pair put on five. Shikhar Dhawan, who faced three
balls, scored as many. An over after Sehwag’s dismissal, Munaf Patel ran him
out.
Gautam Gambhir, whose 23-ball innings included four boundaries, scored
31. Seventeen balls later, he was (Trive)dismissed by Siddharth, who broke the
16-run stand.
A B de Villiers, who faced 22 balls, scored 20. Twenty-one balls later,
he was caught by Warne. Mascarenhas broke the 24-run stand.
Dinesh Karthik, whose 15-ball innings included a boundary, scored 13. Four
balls later, he was caught by Mahesh Rawat. Mascarenhas broke the two-run
stand.

Mishra, who faced five balls, scored four. Eleven balls after Karthik’s
dismissal, Trivedi broke the six-run stand.

Yo Mahesh, who faced a ball, didn’t get off the mark. He was unbeaten.
RR eventually conceded 11 extras. DD scored 156 for the loss of seven

Each of the five bowlers bowled four overs apiece.
Warne and Munaf were wicketless. While the former conceded 47, the
latter conceded 24.
Mascarenhas, Trivedi and Watson picked up a couple of scalps apiece.

Watson’s half-century – which included three boundaries and as many

The 15th over of RR’s innings – which was bowled by Mishra –

Mascarenhas, whose eight-ball innings included a boundary, scored nine. Nineteen
balls after Jadeja’s dismissal, Sehwag broke the 28-run stand.
RR scored 150 off 18 overs (110 balls). DD had conceded 17 extras at
that point. That was, incidentally, the number of extras they eventually
conceded.
Warne, whose 12-ball innings included a boundary, scored 11. Sixteen
balls after Mascarenhas’ dismissal, Maharoof broke the 23-run stand.
The seventh-wicket pair didn’t get off the mark. Watson, whose 40-ball
innings included five boundaries and as many sixes, eventually scored 74. The
next ball, Karthik ran him out.
Niraj, who faced a couple of balls, scored four. His runs came by way of
a boundary. He was unbeaten, as was Rawat, who scored five. His four-ball
innings included a boundary.
RR, who scored 159 for the loss of seven wickets off 19.1 overs, won by
three wickets with five balls to spare.
Yo Mahesh bowled 13 balls, conceding 35. He was wicketless, as were Pradeep
Sangwan and Glenn McGrath, who bowled four overs apiece. While the former
conceded 33, the latter conceded a dozen.
Sehwag bowled two overs, conceding 21. He picked up a wicket, as did
Maharoof, who bowled four overs, conceding 22.
Mishra bowled three overs, conceding 27. He picked up two scalps.
