KKR (Moham)made four changes to their playing eleven – Brendon McCullum,
Ricky Ponting, Hafeez and Murali Kartik made way for the Pakistani pair (Salman
Butt and Umar Gul), Brad Hodge and Wriddhiman Saha.
On winning the toss, Shane Warne, RR’s skipper, chose to bat.
The first Powerplay of RR’s innings – which was the mandatory Powerplay
– was between the first and the sixth over. They scored 45, and lost a wicket.
Graeme Smith had no reason to be in seventh heaven – he scored just a
couple. A couple of overs into the (Shar)match, Ishant broke the 11-run stand.
RR scored 50 off 6.5 overs (41 balls). KKR had conceded five extras at
that point.
Mohammad Kaif, whose 18-ball innings included three boundaries and a six,
scored 21. Five overs after Smith’s dismissal, he was caught by Ajit Agarkar,
who broke the 42-run stand.
Asnodkar’s half-century – which included eight boundaries and a six –
scored 29 balls.

The third-wicket pair put on 50 off 24 balls. While Asnodkar’s contribution

Shane Watson, who faced a ball, didn’t get off the mark. Three balls
