DD made three changes to their playing eleven – Farveez Maharoof, Sarabjit Ladda and Gautam Gambhir made way for David Warner, Rajat Bhatia and Umesh Yadav.

On winning the toss, Dinesh Karthik, DD’s skipper, chose to bat.
The first Powerplay of DD’s innings – which was the mandatory Powerplay
– was between the first and the sixth over. They scored 52, and lost a wicket.
Warner, whose eight-ball innings included a boundary, scored
half-a-dozen. Twenty-one balls into the match, he was caught by Matthew Hayden,
the player of the match. Lakshmipathy Balaji broke the 350run stand.
DD scored 50 off five overs (31 balls). CSK had conceded an extra at
that point.
Virender Sehwag’s half-century – which included eight boundaries and a
couple of sixes – came off 22 balls.
The second-wicket pair put on 50 off 37 balls. While Sehwag’s contribution
to the partnership was 33, Tillakaratne Dilshan’s contribution to it was a
dozen. Extras’ contribution to the partnership was five.
DD scored 100 off 10.5 overs (66 balls). The number of extras they had
conceded at that point gave no reason to be in seventh heaven.
Dilshan, whose 24-ball innings included a boundary, scored 15. Forty-seven
balls after Warner’s dismissal, he was caught by Suresh Raina, CSK’s skipper.
Muttiah Muralitharan broke the 67-run stand.

A B de Villiers, who faced three balls, scored a couple. Five balls
later, he was caught by Raina. Ravichandran Ashwin broke the four-run stand.
Karthik, whose 14-ball innings included a couple of boundaries, scored
19. Twenty-three balls later, he was trapped leg before wicket by Sharma, who
broke the 39-run stand.
DD scored 150 off 17 overs (103 balls). CSK had conceded eight extras at
that point.
Manhas, whose 22-ball innings included five boundaries, scored 32. He
was (Mith)unbeaten.
Bhatia, whose nine-ball innings included a boundary and a couple of
sixes, scored 21. Eighteen balls after Karthik’s dismissal, he was caught by
Raina. Balaji broke the 31-run stand.
Amit Mishra, whose three-ball innings included a boundary, scored
half-a-dozen. He was unbeaten.
CSK eventually conceded 10 extras. DD scored 185 for the loss of half-a-dozen

Kemp and Raina bowled a wicketless over apiece. While the former
conceded 14, the latter conceded a dozen.
Albie Morkel, who bowled three wicketless overs, conceded 26.
Sharma and Ashwin bowled four overs each, picking up a wicket apiece.

Morkel, who faced three balls, didn’t get off the mark. Eleven balls
after Hayden’s dismissal, he was caught by Mishra. Dilshan broke the 14-run
stand.
Kemp, who faced eight balls, scored just four. Fifteen balls later, Dirk
Nannes broke the run-a-ball stand.
Murali Vijay, whose six-ball innings included a boundary and a six,
scored 14. He was unbeaten.
DD eventually conceded 10 extras. CSK, who scored 190 for the loss of
five wickets off 19.1 overs, lost by five wickets with five balls to spare.
Bhatia, who bowled two overs, conceded 31. He was wicketless, as was
Pradeep Sangwan, who bowled four overs, conceding 46.
Dilshan, who bowled 2.1 overs, conceded 30. He picked up a wicket, as
was Mishra, who bowled three overs, conceding 25.
Yadav and Nannes bowled four overs each, picking up a wicket apiece.
While the former conceded 38, the latter conceded 18.
