RR made three changes to their playing (Mork)eleven – Swapnil Asnodkar,
Lee Carseldine and Morne made way for Rob Quiney, Siddharth Chitnis and Johan Botha.
On winning the toss, Shane Warne, RR’s skipper, chose to bat.
The first Powerplay of RR’s innings – which was the mandatory Powerplay
– was between the first and the sixth over. They scored 42, without the loss of
a wicket.
Graeme, whose run-a-ball innings included three boundaries, scored 19. (Smi)Thirty-nine
balls into the match, he was caught by Jean-Paul Duminy. Harbhajan Singh broke
the 43-run stand.
RR scored 50 off 7.5 overs (47 balls). MI had conceded a couple of
extras at that point.
Yusuf Pathan, whose 14-ball innings included three boundaries, scored
17. Twenty balls after Smith’s dismissal, he was caught by Lasith Malinga. Nanda
broke the 22-run stand.
Ten overs into the match, the drinks break was taken. RR had scored 66 for
the loss of a couple of wickets at that point. While Quiney had scored 26,
Ravindra Jadeja had scored a run.
RR scored 100 off 13.3 overs (81 balls). MI had conceded three extras at
that point.
Quiney’s half-century – which included five boundaries and a couple of
sixes – came off 37 balls.

scored 42. Four balls later, he was caught by Bravo. Sanath Jayasuriya broke
the one-run stand.
Naman Ojha, who faced four balls, scored a run. Three balls later, he
was caught by Ajinkya Rahane. Jayasuriya broke the two-run stand.
Botha, who faced three balls, scored a couple. He was unbeaten.
The seventh-wicket pair put on a run. Warne didn’t face a ball. A couple

The number of extras they eventually conceded gave MI no reason to be in
seventh heaven. RR scored 145 for the loss of seven wickets off 20 overs.
Duminy, who bowled three overs, conceded 17. He was wicketless, as was
Dhawal Kulkarni, who bowled four overs, conceding 29.

Ten overs into the chase, the drinks break was taken. MI had scored 54 for
the loss of three wickets at that point. While Jayasuriya had scored 15, Sachin
Tendulkar, MI’s skipper, was batting on nine.
Jayasuriya, who faced 21 balls, eventually scored 16. Thirty-five balls
after Takawale’s dismissal, he was caught by Pathan. Warne broke the 33-run stand.
Duminy, who faced five balls, scored four. Twelve balls later, Trivedi
broke the 20-run stand.

Tendulkar, whose 30-ball innings included four boundaries and a six, eventually
scored 40. Fourteen balls after Duminy’s dismissal, he was trapped leg before
wicket by Warne, who broke the 27-run stand.
The seventh-wicket pair put on 37. Nayar, whose 18-ball innings included
four boundaries and a six, scored 35. Nineteen balls later, Ojha ran him out.
Kulkarni scored a run. Four balls later, he was trapped leg be‘four’
