DC made four changes to their playing eleven – V V S Laxman, Anirudh
Singh, Dwayne Smith and Azhar Bilakhia made way for Mohnish Mishra,
Tirumalasetti Suman (the player of the match), Venugopal Rao and Mitchell Marsh.
On winning the toss, Adam Gilchrist, DC’s skipper, chose to field.
The first Powerplay of RCB’s innings – which was the mandatory Powerplay
– was between the first and the sixth over. They scored 46, and lost a wicket.
Pandey, who faced half-a-dozen balls, scored a run. Fifteen balls into
the match, Ryan Harris broke the 18-run stand.
RCB scored 50 off 6.4 overs (40 balls). DC had conceded half-a-dozen extras
at that point.
Rahul Dravid, whose 25-ball innings included a couple of boundaries and
a six, scored 26. Thirty-seven balls after Pandey’s dismissal, he was caught by
Rohit Sharma. Pragyan Ojha broke the 42-run stand.
Robin Uthappa, who faced five balls, scored a couple. Half-a-dozen balls
later, he was caught by Gilchrist. Andrew Symonds broke the three-run stand.
Ross Taylor, who faced a couple of balls, scored a run. Three balls
later, he was trapped leg before wicket by Ojha, who broke the five-run stand.
Jacques Kallis’ half-century – which included half-a-dozen boundaries
and a six – came off 35 balls.

The fifth-wicket pair put on 50 off 36 balls. While Kallis’ contribution

Kohli’s half-century – which included a couple of boundaries and four sixes
– came off 31 balls.
He eventually scored 58 off 35 balls, which included four boundaries, in
addition to the aforementioned number of sixes. Five balls after Kallis’ dismissal,
he was caught by Symonds. Harris broke the nine-run stand.
Cameron White, whose three-ball innings included a couple of sixes,
scored 13. He was unbeaten, as was Praveen, who didn’t face a ball.
RCB scored 184 for the loss of half-a-dozen wickets off 20 overs.
The Singhs were wicketless. While Harmeet, who bowled an over, conceded
13, Rudra Pratap, who bowled four overs, conceded 38.
Symonds, who bowled three overs, conceded 34. He picked up a wicket, as
did Marsh, who bowled four overs, conceding 37.
Harris and Ojha bowled four overs each, picking up a couple of scalps
apiece. While the former conceded 37, the latter conceded 24.

The fourth-wicket pair put on 50 off 29 balls. While Suman’s contribution

seven wickets with four balls to spare.
Steyn and Kallis bowled four wicketless overs apiece. While the former
conceded 38, the latter conceded 32.
Vinay, who bowled 3.2 overs, conceded 39. He picked up a wicket, as did
Kumble and Praveen, who bowled four overs apiece. While the former conceded 38,
the latter conceded 37.
