RCB made one change to their playing eleven – Asad Pathan made way for Abhimanyu

On winning the toss, Daniel Vettori, RCB’s skipper, chose to field.
The first Powerplay of DD’s innings – which was the mandatory Powerplay
– was between the first and the sixth over. They scored 42, and lost a wicket.
Although his 11-ball innings included a boundary, David Warner had no
reason to be in seventh heaven – 26 balls later, Zaheer Khan broke the 33-run
stand.
The second-wicket pair put on 10. Virender Sehwag, DD’s skipper, scored
25 off 18 balls, which included three boundaries. A dozen balls later, Mithun
and A B de Villiers ran him out.
DD scored 50 off 7.2 overs (44 balls). RCB had conceded three extras at
that point.
Wade, who faced nine balls, scored eight. Twenty-one balls after
Sehwag’s dismissal, Mithun broke the 25-run stand.
DD scored 100 off 13.2 overs (81 balls). RCB had conceded five extras at
that point.
Venugopal Rao, whose 21-ball innings included a couple of boundaries and
a six, eventually scored 24. Thirty-three balls after Wade’s dismissal, Vettori
broke the 47-run stand.
James Hopes’ half-century – which included seven boundaries – came off
39 balls.
Hopes, whose 43-ball innings included seven boundaries, eventually
scored 54. Twenty-one balls after Rao’s dismissal, he was caught by de
Villiers. Mithun broke the 27-run stand.
DD scored 150 off 18.3 overs (113 balls). RCB had conceded 10 extras at

Naman Ojha, whose 11-ball innings included a couple of sixes, scored 16.
Five balls later, he was caught by Zaheer Khan. Sreenath Aravind broke the
nine-run stand.
Irfan Pathan, whose innings included a couple of sixes, scored 13. He
had a reason to be in seventh heaven – he was unbeaten, as was Yogesh Nagar, who
faced a couple of balls, failing to get off the mark.
RCB eventually conceded 13 extras. DD scored 160 for the loss of
half-a-dozen wickets off 20 overs.
Chris Gayle and Syed Mohammad bowled a couple of wicketless overs
apiece. While the former conceded 20, the latter conceded 17.
Aravind, Khan and Vettori bowled four overs each, picking up a wicket
apiece. They conceded 30, 27, and 25, respectively.
Mithun, who bowled four overs, conceded 37. He picked up a couple of
scalps.

The second-wicket pair put on 50 off 25 balls. While Gayle’s
contribution to the partnership was 17, Virat Kohli’s contribution to it was
26. Extras’ contribution to the partnership was seven.
Gayle, whose 14-ball innings included four boundaries and a six, eventually
scored 26. Forty-three balls after Dilshan’s dismissal, he was caught by Rao.
Hopes broke the 82-run partnership.
Kohli’s half-century – which included eight boundaries and a couple of
sixes – came off 31 balls.
The third-wicket pair put on a dozen. De Villiers, whose two-ball innings
included a boundary, scored five. Eight balls after Gayle’s dismissal, Warner
ran him out.
Kohli, who faced 38 balls, eventually scored 56. A couple of balls
later, Morne Morkel broke the one-run stand.
RCB scored 100 off 10.4 overs (64 balls). DD had conceded nine extras at
that point.
Cheteshwar Pujara, who faced a dozen balls, had no reason to be in
seventh heaven – 20 balls after Kohli’s dismissal, he was caught by Warner.
Nagar broke the 11-run stand.
Vettori, whose 19-ball innings included a boundary and a six, scored 18.
He was unbeaten.
Saurabh Tiwary, whose 20-ball innings included a boundary and a six,
scored 18. Twenty-five balls after Pujara’s dismissal, he was caught by Ojha. Morkel
broke the 32-run stand.
The seventh-wicket pair did not get off the mark. Muthun, who faced a
couple of balls, failed to open his account. A couple of balls later, he was
caught by Yadav off the bowling of Morkel.
RCB scored 150 off 18 overs (109 balls). DD had conceded 18 extras at
that point. That was, incidentally, the number of extras they eventually
conceded.
Mohammad, whose innings included a couple of boundaries, scored 13. He
was unbea‘ten’.
RCB, who scored 161 for the loss of seven wickets off 19.3 overs, won by
three wickets with three balls to spare.
Pathan, who bowled three overs, conceded 26. He was wicketless, as was
Yadav, who bowled four overs, conceding 37.
Nagar, who bowled an over, conceded three. He picked up a wicket.
Dinda, who bowled 3.3 overs, conceded 36. He picked up a wicket.
Hopes, who bowled four overs, conceded 25. He picked up a wicket.
Morkel, who bowled four overs, conceded 25. He picked up three scalps.
