The first Powerplay of CSK’s innings – which was the mandatory Powerplay
– was between the first and the sixth over. They scored 44, and lost a couple
of wickets.
Murali Vijay, who faced five balls, scored a couple. Five balls into the
match, Sharma broke the two-run stand.
Suresh Raina, whose 12-ball innings included three boundaries, scored
16. Twenty-eight balls later, he was caught by Daniel Christian, who broke the
40-run stand.
CSK scored 50 off 6.4 overs (40 balls). DC had conceded an extra at that
point.
Faf du Plessis, whose 25-ball innings included a boundary and four sixes,
scored 39. Sixteen balls after Raina’s dismissal, he was caught by Christian.
Sudhindra broke the 21-run stand.
Subramaniam Badrinath, whose 20-ball innings included three boundaries,
scored 25. Twenty-five balls later, he was caught by Bharat Chipli. Christian
broke the 31-run stand.
CSK scored 100 off 13.3 overs (81 balls). DC had conceded four extras at

Mahendra Singh, CSK’s skipper, faceD(ho)nine balls, and had no reason to
be in seventh heaven – 15 balls after Badrinath’s dismissal, he was caught by
Harris. Dale Steyn broke the 26-run stand.
Ravindra Jadeja, the player of the match, scored 48 off 29 balls, which
included three boundaries and as many sixes. Fifteen balls later, he was
dismissed hit wicket off the bowling of Steyn, who broke the 27-run stand.
CSK scored 150 off 17.5 overs (107 balls). DC had conceded eight extras
at that point.
Dwayne Bravo, whose 18-ball innings included five sixes, scored 43. He
was unbeaten, as was Albie Morkel, who faced three balls, scoring a couple.
DC eventually conceded 11 extras. CSK scored 193 for the loss of
half-a-dozen wickets off 20 overs.
Harris, who bowled an over, conceded 11. He was wicketless, as was Gony,
who bowled four overs, conceding 54.
Sharma bowled three overs, conceded 28. He picked up a wicket, as did
Sudhindra, who bowled four overs, conceding 46.
Christian and Steyn bowled four overs each, picking up a couple of
scalps apiece. While the former conceded 26, the latter conceded 25.

broke the eight-run stand.

balls later, Jakati broke the nine-run stand.
Christian, who faced three balls, scored a couple. Eight balls later, he
was caught by Bravo. Jakati broke the four-run stand.
Gony, who faced eight balls, scored four. A couple of balls later, he
was caught by Raina. Jadeja broke the one-run stand.
The eighth-wicket pair didn’t get off the mark. Dwaraka Ravi Teja, who
faced a couple of balls, didn’t open his account. A couple of balls later, he
was stumped by Dhoni off the bowling of Jadeja.
DC scored 100 off 15 overs (90 balls).
Steyn, who faced eight balls, scored five. Fifteen balls after Ravi Teja’s
dismissal, he was trapped leg before wicket by Jadeja, who broke the 20-run
stand.
The last-wicket pair didn’t get off the mark. Sharma, whose eight-ball
innings included a couple of sixes, scored 15. The next ball, he was caught by Morkel
off the bowling of Bollinger.
Sudhindra, who didn’t face a ball, was unbeaten.
DC, who were bundled out for 119 off 17.1 overs, lost by 74 runs.
Du Plessis and Bravo bowled a wicketless over apiece. While the former
conceded 16, the latter conceded 10.
Morkel bowled a couple of wicketless overs, conceding 20.
Ravichandran Ashwin bowled three wicketless overs, conceding 12.
Raina bowled a couple of overs, conceding 10. He picked up a wicket.
Jakati bowled a couple of overs, conceding 14. He picked up a couple of
wickets, as did Bollinger, who bowled 13 balls, conceding 20.
Jadeja bowled four overs, conceding 16. He picked up five scalps.
