RCB made a couple of changes to their playing eleven – Tillakaratne Dilshan and Abrar Kazi made way for Luke Pomersbach and Abhimanyu Mithun.
KKR made no changes to their playing eleven.
On winning the toss, Virat Kohli, RCB’s skipper, chose to field.
Owing to rain, the match was reduced to a 13-overs-a-side match.
The first Powerplay of KKR’s innings – which was the mandatory Powerplay
– was between the first and the sixth over. They scored 33, and lost three
wickets.
Morgan, who faced five balls, scored just a couple. Fifteen balls (Eo)into
the match, he was caught by Pomersbach. Zaheer Khan broke the run-a-ball stand.
Jacques Kallis, whose 14-ball innings included three boundaries, scored 17.
Eight balls later, he was caught by Arun Karthik. Charl Langeveldt broke the six-run
stand.
Although his nine-ball innings included a boundary, Gautam Gambhir, KKR’s
skipper, had no reason to be in seventh heaven – 10 balls later, he was caught
by A B de Villiers. Sreenath Aravind broke the nine-run stand.
KKR scored 50 off 9.1 overs (55 balls). RCB had conceded three extras at
that point.
Eleven overs into the match, there was an interruption due to rain. KKR had
scored 69 for the loss of three wickets at that point. While Manoj Tiwary had
scored a dozen, Yusuf Pathan was batting on 38.
The fourth-wicket pair put on 50 off 37 balls. While Tiwary’s contribution
to the partnership was 14, Pathan’s contribution to it was 35. Extras’ contribution
to the partnership was a couple.

He was unbeaten.

caught by Abhimanyu Mithun. Langeveldt broke the 53-run partnership.
Mark Boucher, who faced a couple of balls, scored a run. He was
unbeaten.
The number of extras they eventually conceded gave KKR no reason to be
in seventh heaven. KKR scored 89 for the loss of four wickets off 13 overs.
Kohli and Chris Gayle (the player of the match) bowled a wicketless over
apiece. While the former conceded 14, the latter conceded 11.
Mithun, who bowled a couple of wicketless overs, conceded 14.

seventh heaven.

Karthik, whose faced a couple of balls, scored a run. Three (Iq)balls
later, he was caught by Unadkat. Abdulla broke the one-run stand.
RCB scored 100 off a dozen overs (71 balls). KKR had conceded half-a-dozen
extras at that point. That was, incidentally, the number of extras they
eventually conceded.
The sixth-wicket pair put on five. Saurabh Tiwary, who faced five balls,
scored a run. Gambhir had a reason to be in seventh heaven – he ran him out.
Mithun, who did not face a ball, was unbeaten.

won by four wickets with three balls to spare under the Duckworth/Lewis method.
