RR made a couple of changes to their playing eleven – Sreesanth and Shaun
Tait made way for Kevon Cooper and Rahul Shukla.
On winning the toss, Rahul Dravid, RR’s skipper, chose to bat.
The first Powerplay of RR’s innings – which was the mandatory Powerplay
– was between the first and the sixth over. They scored 55, without the loss of
a wicket.
RR’s openers put on 50 off 5.4 overs (34 balls). CSK had
conceded an extra at that point. While Shane Watson’s contribution to the
partnership was 34, Ajinkya Rahane’s contribution to it was 15.
Rahane, whose 15-ball innings included a boundary, eventually scored 16.
Forty-four balls into the match, Ravichandran Ashwin broke the 71-run partnership.
Although his eight-ball innings included a boundary, Dishant Yagnik had
no reason to be in seventh heaven – 13 balls later, he was caught by Ashwin,
who broke the run-a-ball stand.

caught by Michael Hussey, the player of the match. Bravo broke the 46-run
stand.
Stuart Binny, whose 22-ball innings included three boundaries and a six,
scored 36. He was unbeaten, as was Brad Hodge, who scored nine. His six-ball
innings included a boundary.
CSK eventually conceded 10 extras. RR scored 185 for the loss of four
wickets off 20 overs.
Mohit Sharma, who bowled a couple of wicketless overs, conceded 19.
Ravindra Jadeja and Chris Morris bowled three wicketless overs apiece.
While the former conceded 45, the latter conceded 32.

The third-wicket pair put on 42. Michael Hussey, whose 51-ball innings

The fourth-wicket pair didn’t get off the mark. Jadeja, who faced a
couple of balls, didn’t open his account. A couple of balls later, he was dismissed
by Faulkner.
Dhoni, whose 16-ball innings included a boundary, scored 21. Fifteen
balls later, he was caught by Binny. Faulkner broke the 21-run stand.
The number of extras they eventually conceded gave RR no reason to be in
seventh heaven.
Bravo, whose nine-ball innings included a six, scored 15. He was
unbeaten, as was Morris, who faced a ball, scoring a run.
CSK, who scored 186 for the loss of five wickets off 19.5 overs, won by
five wickets with a ball to spare.
Watson, who bowled 11 wicketless balls, conceded 21.
Rahul Shukla and Binny bowled two wicketless overs apiece. While the
former conceded 24, the latter conceded 20.
Trivedi, who bowled three wicketless overs, conceded (Siddhar)thirty-two.
Cooper, who bowled four wicketless overs, conceded 49.
Chandila, who bowled three overs, conceded 16. He picked up a wicket.
Faulkner, who bowled four overs, conceded 20. He picked up three scalps.
