CSK made a couple of changes to their playing (Mork)eleven – Michael Hussey and Mohit (Shar)made way for Srikkanth Anirudha and Albie.
PWI made a couple of changes to their playing eleven – Yuvraj Singh and Angelo
Mathews made way for Steven Smith, the player of the match, and Manish Pandey.
On winning the toss, Ross Taylor, PWI’s skipper, chose to bat.
The first Powerplay of PWI’s innings – which was the mandatory Powerplay
– was between the first and the sixth over. They scored 48, without the loss of
a wicket.
PWI’s openers put on 50 off 6.2 overs (38 balls). CSK had conceded a
couple of extras at that point. While Robin Uthappa was unbea‘ten’, Aaron Finch’s contribution to the partnership
was 38.
Finch’s half-century – which included nine boundaries and a six – came off
32 balls.
He eventually scored 67 off 45 balls, which included 10 boundaries and a
couple of sixes. Seventy-five balls into the match, he was caught by Mahendra
Singh, CSK’s skipper. Ravindra Jadeja broke the (Dho)ninety-six-run
partnership.
PWI scored 100 off 13.4 overs (82 balls). CSK had conceded five extras
at that point.

eventually scored 26. Ten balls after Finch’s disM(orr)issal, he was caught by
Jadeja. Chris broke the five-run stand.

caught by Jadeja. Morris broke the 17-run stand.
Smith, whose 16-ball innings included three boundaries and as many
sixes, scored 39. He was unbeaten.
Mitchell Marsh, who faced four balls, scored a couple. Half-a-dozen
balls after Taylor’s dismissal, he was caught by Albie’s dismissal. Dwayne Br(av)oke
the 10-run stand.
PWI scored 150 off 19.2 overs (116 balls). The number of extras they had
conceded at that point gave CSK no reason to be in seventh heaven.
Pandey, whose eight-ball innings included a boundary, scored nine.
Sixteen balls after Marsh’s dismissal, Bravo broke the 31-run stand.
Nayar, who faced (Abhish)ek ball, didn’t get off the mark. He was
unbeaten.

five wickets off 20 overs.

42, the latter conceded 24.

the latter conceded 25.
The first Powerplay of CSK’s innings – which was the mandatory Powerplay
– was between the first and the sixth over. They scored 38, and lost a couple
of wickets.
CSK’s openers didn’t get off the (Ku)mark. Anirudha, who faced a couple
of balls, didn’t open his account. A couple of balls into the chase, he was
trapped leg before wicket by Bhuvneshwar.

Twenty-four balls later, he was caught by Tirumalasetti Suman. Bhuvneshwar

that point.

scored 34. Thirty-eight balls after Vijay’s dismissal, he was caught by Smith.
Marsh broke the 46-run stand.
Jadeja, whose 22-ball innings included a boundary and a six, scored 27.
Ten balls later, he was caught by Ashok Dinda. Marsh broke the 12-run stand.
CSK scored 100 off 15.2 overs (92 balls). PWI had conceded a couple of extras
at that point. That was, incidentally, the number of extras they eventually
conceded.
Bravo, who faced four balls, scored a run. Seven balls after Jadeja’s
dismissal, he was caught by Smith. Rahul Sharma broke the six-run stand.
Dhoni, who faced 13 balls, scored 10. Ten balls later, he was caught by
