RCB (Moham)made three changes to their playing eleven – Lokesh Rahul, Andrew McDonald, and Jamaluddin Syed made way for Tillakaratne Dilshan, Saurabh Tiwary, and Murali Kartik.
RR made a couple of Cha(va)nges to their playing eleven – Kevon Cooper and
Ankeet made way for Sreesanth and Shaun Tait.
On winning the toss, Virat Kohli, RCB’s skipper, chose to field.
The first Powerplay of RR’s innings – which was the mandatory Powerplay
– was between the first and the sixth over. They scored 31, and lost a couple
of wickets.
Shane Watson, whose nine-ball innings included a boundary, scored (Ra)VI.
Fourteen balls into the match, he was caught by Kartik. Rampaul broke the
10-run stand.
Ajinkya Rahane, whose 13-ball innings included a couple of boundaries
and a six, scored 14. Eighteen balls later, he was caught by Dilshan. Jaydev Unadkat
broke the 16-run stand.
RR scored 50 off as many balls (8.2 overs). RCB had not conceded any extras
at that point. In fact, they did not concede any extras.
Stuart Binny, whose 20-ball innings included four boundaries and a six,
scored 33. Twenty-seven balls after Rahane’s dismissal, he was caught by Arun

Brad Hodge, whose 17-ball innings included a boundary, scored 13. Four
balls later, he was caught by Arun Karthik. Vinay broke the eight-run stand.
James Faulkner had no reason to be in seventh heaven – he scored just
three. Seven balls later, he was caught by Rampaul. Rudra Pratap Singh broke
the three-run stand.
Dishant Yagnik, whose four-ball innings included a boundary, scored
five. Three balls later, he was caught by Rampaul. Rudra Pratap broke the
two-run stand.
Ajit Chandila, who faced half-a-dozen balls, scored four. He was unbeaten.

– was between the first and the sixth over. They scored 48, without the loss of
a wicket.
RCB’s scored 50 off 6.1 overs (37 balls). The number of extras they had

contribution to the partnership was 25, Chris Gayle’s contribution to it was
20.
Dilshan, whose 22-ball innings included five boundaries, did not add to
the aforementioned score. Forty balls into the match, he was caught by Yagnik.

Kohli, who faced four balls, scored a run. Half-a-dozen balls later,
Faulkner broke the four-run stand.
De Villiers, whose eight-ball innings included A Boundary, had no reason
to be in seventh heaven – eight balls later, he was caught by Chandila. Needless
to say, Watson was in seventh heaven.
RCB scored 100 off 15.2 overs (92 balls). RR had conceded 16 extras at
that point. That was, incidentally, the number of extras they eventually
conceded.
The fourth-wicket pair put on 50 off 51 balls. While Gayle’s contribution
to the partnership was 20, Saurabh’s contribution to it was 24. Extras’
contribution to the partnership was eight.
