White leads; SRH beat Rajasthan

SRH made no changes to their playing eleven.

RR made a couple of Cha(va)nges to their playing eleven – Dishant Yagnik and Ankeet made way for Sachin Baby and Siddharth Trivedi.

The first Powerplay of SRH’s innings – which was the mandatory Powerplay – was between the first and the sixth over. They scored 21, and lost three wickets.

Parthiv Patel, who faced half-a-dozen boundaries, scored a couple. James Faulkner had a reason to be in seventh heaven – he broke the three-run stand.

Shikhar Dhawan, who faced three balls, scored a run. Three balls later, he was caught by Ajinkya Rahane. Faulkner broke the one-run stand.

White, who faced a ball, did not get off the mark. Four balls later, he was caught by Trivedi. Shane Watson broke the one-run stand.

Hanuma Vihari, who faced 28 balls, scored 19. Forty-seven balls later, he was caught by Baby. Trivedi broke the 44-run stand.  

SRH scored 50 off 11 overs (66 balls). RR had conceded four extras at that point.

SRH scored 100 off 16 overs (96 balls). RR had conceded a dozen extras at that point.

The fifth-wicket pair put on 50 off 33 balls. While Biplab Samantray’s contribution to the partnership was 24, Daren Sammy’s contribution to it was 23. Extras’ contribution to the partnership was eight.

Sammy, whose 19-ball innings included a boundary and a six, eventually did not add to the aforementioned score. Thirty-five balls after Vihari’s dismissal, he was caught by Brad Hodge. Faulkner broke the 56-run partnership.

Samantray’s half-century – which included five boundaries and a six – came off 43 balls.

He eventually scored 55 off 46 balls, which included half-a-dozen boundaries, in addition to the six. Thirteen balls after Sammy’s dismissal, he was caught by Kevon Cooper. Faulkner broke the 20-run stand.

Thisara Perera, who faced 13 balls, scored 17. He was unbeaten.

Dale Steyn, who faced a ball, didn’t get off the mark. Three balls after Samantray’s dismissal, Faulkner broke the four-run stand.

The eighth-wicket pair had no reason to be in seventh heaven. Karn Sharma, who faced three balls, scored four. Five balls later, Stuart Binny, Baby, and Cooper ran him out.

The ninth-wicket pair didn’t get off the mark. Amit Mishra, the player of the match, did not face a ball. The next ball, Cooper ran him out.  

RR eventually conceded 15 extras. SRH scored 136 for the loss of nine wickets off 20 overs.

Binny and Hodge bowled a wicketless over apiece. While the former conceded nine, the latter conceded three.

Pravin Tambe, who bowled three wicketless overs, conceded 20.

Cooper, who bowled four wicketless overs, conceded 39.

Watson, who bowled three overs, conceded 19. He picked up a wicket, as did Trivedi, who bowled four overs, conceding 20.

Faulkner bowled four overs, including a maiden. He conceded 15, picking up five scalps.

RR’s openers put on 39. Rahul Dravid, RR’s skipper, scored 25 off 24 balls, which included a boundary and a six. Forty-five balls into the chase, White ran him out.

Rahane, whose 25-ball innings included a six, scored a dozen. Seven balls later, he was caught by Dhawan. Karn broke the one-run stand.

RR scored 50 off 11.1 overs (67 balls). SRH had conceded a couple of extras at that point.

Sanju Samson had no reason in seventh heaven – he scored five. Nineteen balls after Rahane’s dismissal, he was caught by Steyn. Mishra broke the 11-run stand.

Watson, who faced 20 balls, scored 11. Ten balls later, he was caught by Sammy. Thisara broke the run-a-ball stand.

Binny, whose run-a-ball innings included a boundary, scored eight. Three balls later, Thisara broke the four-run stand.

Baby had no reason to be in seventh heaven – he scored just three. Eleven balls later, he was trapped leg before wicket by Mishra, who broke the 10-run stand.

Faulkner, who faced three balls, scored half-a-dozen. His runs came by way of a six. Four balls later, he was caught by Thisara. Needless to say, Karn was in seventh heaven.

Although his innings included a boundary, Hodge had no reason to be in seventh heaven – he scored just eight. Four balls later, Steyn broke the three-run stand.

RR scored 100 off 18.5 overs (113 balls). SRH had conceded half-a-dozen extras at that point. That was, incidentally, the number of extras they eventually conceded.

Cooper, whose 12-ball innings included three boundaries and a six, scored 26. Fifteen balls after Hodge’s dismissal, he was caught by Samantray. Steyn broke the 27-run stand.

Tambe, who faced half-a-dozen balls, scored three. He was unbeaten, as was Trivedi, who faced a ball, failing to get off the mark.

RR, who scored 113 for the loss of nine wickets off 20 overs, lost by 23 runs.

Sammy, who bowled an over, conceded four. He was wicketless, as was Ishant Sharma, who bowled four overs, conceding 22.

Thisara, who bowled three overs, conceded 25. He picked up a couple od scalps, as did Karn, Steyn and Mishra, who bowled four overs apiece. They conceded 33, 17, and eight, respectviely.
