Delhi disappointed; Watson-led RR win

RR made one changes to their playing eleven – Iqbal Abdulla made way for Dhawal Kulkarni.

The first Powerplay of DD’s innings – which was the mandatory Powerplay – was between the first and the sixth over. They scored 46, and lost a wicket.

Murali Vijay, whose 11-ball innings included a boundary, scored 13. Twenty-five balls into the match, he was caught by Watson. James Faulkner broke the 33-run stand.

DD scored 50 off seven overs (42 balls). RR hadn’t conceded any extras at that point.

Pietersen, DD’s skipper, scored 14. His 15-ball (Kev)innings included a couple of boundaries. (Smi)Thirty-two balls after Vijay’s dismissal, he was caught by Steven. Pravin Tambe broke the 36-run stand.

Quinton de Kock, whose 33-ball innings included five boundaries and a six, scored 42. Three balls later, he was caught by Tambe, who broke the two-run stand.

Dinesh Karthik, who faced 16 balls, scored a dozen. Thirty-two balls later, he was caught by Stuart Bunny. Faulkner broke the 24-run stand.

DD scored 100 off 16 overs (96 balls). RR had conceded three extras at that point.

Jean-Paul Duminy, whose 31-ball innings included four boundaries and a six, scored 39. Twenty-five balls after Karthik’s dismissal, he was caught by Rajat Bhatia. Kane Richardson broke the 46-run stand.

Kedar Jadhav, whose 14-ball innings included a couple of boundaries and as many sixes, scored 28. He was unbeaten, as was Wayne Parnell, who did not face a ball.

DD scored 150 off 19.5 overs (119 balls). RR had conceded four extras at that point. That was, incidentally, the number of extras they eventually conceded.

DD scored 152 for the loss of five wickets off 20 overs.

Watson and Binny bowled a wicketless over apiece. While the former conceded 11, the latter conceded nine.

Rajat Bhatia and Kulkarni bowled three wicketless overs apiece. While the former conceded 21, the latter conceded 18.

Richardson, who bowled four overs, conceded 39. He picked up a wicket.

Faulkner and Tambe bowled four overs apiece, picking up a couple of scalps apiece. While the former conceded 26, the latter conceded 25.

Ajinkya Rahane, whose 10-ball innings included a couple of boundaries, scored a dozen. Seventeen balls into the chase, he was caught by Vijay. Parnell broke the 20-run stand.

RR scored 50 off 7.4 overs (46 balls). DD had conceded three extras at that point.

The second-wicket pair put on 50 off 41 balls. While the contribution of Karun Nair, the player of the match, to the partnership was 15, Sanju Samson’s contribution to it was 34. Extras’ contribution to the partnership was a couple.

Samson, whose 28-ball innings included a couple of boundaries and as many sixes, didn’t add to the aforementioned score. Forty-three balls after Rahane’s dismissal, he was stumped by Karthik. Shahbaz Nadeem broke the 51-run partnership.

RR scored 100 off 13 overs (78 balls). DD had conceded three extras at that point.

Nair’s half-century – which included five boundaries and a six – came off 41 balls.

He eventually scored 73 off 50 balls, which included eight boundaries and a couple of sixes. He was unbeaten.

Bhatia, whose 13-ball innings included a six, scored 17. Five overs after Samson’s dismissal, Mohammed Shami broke the 44-run stand.

RR scored 150 off 18.1 overs (109 balls). DD had conceded four extras at that point. That was, incidentally, the number of extras they eventually conceded.

Watson, whose innings included a couple of sixes, scored 16. He was unbea‘ten’.

RR, who scored 156 for the loss of three wickets off 18.3 overs, won by seven wickets with nine balls to spare.

Rahul, who bowled three overs, conceded 32. He was unbeaten, as was Jaydev Unadkat, who bowled 3.3 overs, conceding 36.

Parnell, Nadeem and Shami bowled four overs each, picking up a scalp apiece. They conceded 35, 30, and 22, respectively.
