Rajasthan lose to Shikhar-led SRH

RR made a couple of changes to their playing eleven – Tim Southee and Rahul Tewatia made way for Kane Richardson and Dhawal Kulkarni.

SRH made a couple of changes to their playing eleven – Daren Sammy and Ishant (Shar)made way for Moises Henriques and Amit Mishra.

The first Powerplay of SRH’s innings – which was the mandatory Powerplay – was between the first and the sixth over. They scored 50, and lost a wicket.

Shikhar Dhawan, SRH’s skipper, scored 33 off 20 balls, which included seven boundaries. Four overs into the match, Watson broke the 37-run stand.

SRH scored 50 off half-a-dozen overs (36 balls). RR had conceded a couple of extras at that point.

Aaron Finch, whose 10-ball innings included a boundary, scored nine. Fifteen balls after Shikhar’s dismissal, he was caught by Ajinkya Rahane. Rajat Bhatia broke the 18-run stand.

Lokesh Rahul, whose run-a-ball innings included a couple of boundaries, scored 18. Fifteen balls later, Bhatia broke the 12-run stand.

David Warner had no reason to (Tam)be in seventh heaven – he scored half-a-dozen. Seventeen balls later, he was stumped by Sanju Samson. Pravin broke the 18-run stand.

Naman, whose 19-ball innings included a boundary, scored 17. (Oj)Half-a-dozen balls later, Bhatia broke the four-run stand.

Watson took a hat-trick, with the wickets of Shikhar, Henriques, and Karn Sharma.

SRH scored 100 off 15 overs (90 balls). RR had conceded five extras at that point.

Henriques, whose 13-ball innings included a boundary, scored nine. Twenty balls after Naman’s dismissal, he was caught by Rahane. Watson broke the 20-run stand.

Irfan Pathan, whose run-a-ball innings included a couple of boundaries, scored 21. He was unbeaten.

The seventh-wicket pair didn’t get off the mark. Karn, who faced a ball, didn’t open his account. A ball after Henriques’ dismissal, he was caught by Samson off the bowling of Watson.

The eighth-wicket pair put on 19. Dale Steyn, whose eight-ball innings included a boundary, scored nine. Eighteen balls later, Samson ran him out.

The ninth-wicket pair put on four. Mishra, who faced a couple of balls, didn’t get off the mark. A couple of balls later, Samson ran him out.

Bhuvneshwar, the player of the match, faced a ball, failing to get off the (Ku)mark. He was unbeaten.

RR eventually conceded a dozen extras. SRH scored 134 for the loss of nine wickets off 20 overs.

Kulkarni, who bowled two overs, conceded 19. He was wicketless, as were Richardson and James Faulkner, who bowled four overs apiece. While the former conceded 28, the latter conceded 20.

Tambe, who bowled four overs, conceded 21. He picked up a wicket.

Watson, who bowled two overs, conceded 13. He picked up three scalps, as did Bhatia, who bowled four overs, conceding 23.

Samson, whose run-a-ball innings included a boundary and a six, scored 16. Eleven balls later, Karn broke the 10-run stand.

Watson, whose 10-ball innings included a boundary, scored 11. Four balls later, he was caught by Naman. Henriques broke the run-a-ball stand.

RR scored 50 off 9.1 overs (55 balls). SRH had conceded three extras at that point.

The fifth-wicket put on 37. Stuart Bunny, who faced 19 balls, scored a dozen. Forty-three balls after Watson’s dismissal, Warner ran him out.

Steven Smith, who faced 33 balls, scored 22. A dozen balls later, he was caught by Irfan. Steyn broke the four-run stand.

Faulkner, who faced half-a-dozen balls, scored four. Three balls later, he was caught by Finch. Needless to say, Bhuvneshwar was in seventh heaven.

The eighth-wicket pair didn’t get off the mark. Bhatia, who faced eight balls, scored four. The next ball, he was caught by Warner off the bowling of Bhuvneshwar.

Richardson, who faced a couple of balls, scored a run. Four balls later, he was caught by Bhuvneshwar, who broke the two-run stand.

RR scored 100 off 19 overs (114 balls). SRH had conceded 10 extras at that point. That was, incidentally, the number of extras they eventually conceded.

Although his six-ball innings included a boundary, Kulkarni, who was unbeaten, had no reason to be in seventh heaven.

Tambe had no reason to be in seventh heaven – he scored just three. Eleven balls after Richardson’s dismissal, he was caught by Steyn. Irfan broke the run-a-ball stand.

RR, who were dismissed for 102 off 19.5 overs, lost by 32 runs.

Mishra, who bowled four wicketless overs, conceded 13.

Irfan, who bowled 11 balls, conceded eight. He picked up a wicket.

Henriques, who bowled a couple of overs, conceded 11. He picked up a wicket.

Karn, who bowled four overs, conceded 20. He picked up a wicket.

Steyn, who bowled four overs, conceded 31. He picked up a couple of wickets.
