SRH made a couple of changes to their playing eleven – Lokesh Rahul and Amit Mishra made way for Venugopal Rao and Parvez Rasool.
RCB made no changes to their playing eleven.
On winning the toss, Virat Kohli, RCB’s skipper, chose to bat.
The first Powerplay of RCB’s innings -which was the
mandatory Powerplay – was between the first and the sixth over. They scored 25,
and lost a couple of wickets.
Patel, who faced (Parth)IV balls, scored a boundary. His
runs came by way of a boundary. Five balls into the match, he was trapped leg before
wicket by Bhuvneshwar Kumar, who broke the run-a-ball stand.
Chris Gayle, whose 20-ball innings included a boundary,
scored 14. Twenty-six balls later, he was caught by Rasool. Karn Sharma broke
the 18-run stand.
RCB scored 50 off 10.2 overs (62 balls). SRH had conceded a
couple of extras at that point.
The third-wicket pair put on 50 off 40 balls. While the contribution
of Virat Kohli, RCB’s skipper, to the partnership was 33, Yuvraj Singh’s
contribution to the partnership was 21. Extras’ contribution to the partnership
was a run.
Yuvraj, whose 25-ball innings included a couple of
boundaries and a six, didn’t add to the aforementioned score. Forty-three balls

De Villiers, whose 17-ball innings included a couple of
boundaries and a six, eventually scored 29. Four balls later, Bhuvneshwar broke
the five-run stand.
RCB scored 150 off 18.3 overs (111 balls). The number of
extras they had conceded at that point gave SRH no reason to be in seventh
heaven. That was, incidentally, the number of extras they eventually conceded.
Rana, whose inningS(ach)included a couple of boundaries
and a six, scored a dozen. Although he was unbeaten, he had no reason to be in
seventh heaven.
Mitchell Starc, whose run-a-ball innings included a
boundary, scored half-a-dozen. He was unbeaten.
RCB scored 160 for the loss of half-a-dozen wickets off 20
overs.
Daren Sammy, SRH’s skipper, and Rao bowled a wicketless
over apiece. While the former conceded 19, the latter wasn’t in seventh heaven.
Steyn, who bowled four wicketless overs, conceded 23.
Irfan and Karn bowled three overs each, picking up a
wicket apiece. While the former conceded 28, the latter conceded 27.
Rasool, who bowled four overs, conceded 26. He picked up a
wicket.
Bhuvneshwar, who bowled four overs, conceded 27. He picked
up a couple of scalps.

Abu Nechim, who bowled 14 wicketless balls, conceded 22.
Starc, who bowled 3.4 wicketless overs, conceded 31.
Yuzvendra Chahal and Muttiah Muralitharan bowled four wicketless
overs apiece. While the former conceded 32, the latter conceded 26.
Aaron, who bowled four overs, conceded 36. He picked up two
scalps.
