Bangalore disappointed; Sammy-led SRH win

SRH made a couple of changes to their playing eleven – Lokesh Rahul and Amit Mishra made way for Venugopal Rao and Parvez Rasool.

RCB made no changes to their playing eleven.

On winning the toss, Virat Kohli, RCB’s skipper, chose to bat.

The first Powerplay of RCB’s innings -which was the mandatory Powerplay – was between the first and the sixth over. They scored 25, and lost a couple of wickets.

Patel, who faced (Parth)IV balls, scored a boundary. His runs came by way of a boundary. Five balls into the match, he was trapped leg before wicket by Bhuvneshwar Kumar, who broke the run-a-ball stand.

Chris Gayle, whose 20-ball innings included a boundary, scored 14. Twenty-six balls later, he was caught by Rasool. Karn Sharma broke the 18-run stand.

RCB scored 50 off 10.2 overs (62 balls). SRH had conceded a couple of extras at that point.

The third-wicket pair put on 50 off 40 balls. While the contribution of Virat Kohli, RCB’s skipper, to the partnership was 33, Yuvraj Singh’s contribution to the partnership was 21. Extras’ contribution to the partnership was a run.

Yuvraj, whose 25-ball innings included a couple of boundaries and a six, didn’t add to the aforementioned score. Forty-three balls after Gayle’s dismissal, he was caught by Dale Steyn. Rasool broke the 57-run partnership.

RCB scored 100 off 14.4 overs (88 balls). SRH had conceded five extras at that point.

Kohli’s half-century – which included four boundaries and a couple of sixes – came off 34 balls.

The fourth-wicket pair put on 50 off 27 balls. While Kohli’s contribution to the partnership was 22, A B de Villiers’ contribution to the partnership was 27. Extras’ contribution to the partnership was four.

Kohli, whose 41-ball innings included the aforementioned number of boundaries and as many sixes, eventually scored 67. Thirty-one balls after Yuvraj’s dismissal, he was caught by Steyn. Irfan Pathan broke the 61-run partnership.

De Villiers, whose 17-ball innings included a couple of boundaries and a six, eventually scored 29. Four balls later, Bhuvneshwar broke the five-run stand.

RCB scored 150 off 18.3 overs (111 balls). The number of extras they had conceded at that point gave SRH no reason to be in seventh heaven. That was, incidentally, the number of extras they eventually conceded.

Rana, whose inningS(ach)included a couple of boundaries and a six, scored a dozen. Although he was unbeaten, he had no reason to be in seventh heaven.

Mitchell Starc, whose run-a-ball innings included a boundary, scored half-a-dozen. He was unbeaten.

RCB scored 160 for the loss of half-a-dozen wickets off 20 overs.

Daren Sammy, SRH’s skipper, and Rao bowled a wicketless over apiece. While the former conceded 19, the latter wasn’t in seventh heaven.

Steyn, who bowled four wicketless overs, conceded 23.

Irfan and Karn bowled three overs each, picking up a wicket apiece. While the former conceded 28, the latter conceded 27.

Rasool, who bowled four overs, conceded 26. He picked up a wicket.

Bhuvneshwar, who bowled four overs, conceded 27. He picked up a couple of scalps.

SRH’s openers put on 50 off 5.2 overs (32 balls). RCB had conceded three extras at that point. While Shikhar Dhawan’s contribution to the partnership was 28, David Warner’s contribution to it was 19.

Shikhar’s half-century – which included seven boundaries and a six – came off 39 balls.

SRH’s openers put on 100 off 12.2 overs (74 balls). RCB had conceded four extras at that point. While Shikhar’s contribution to the partnership was 50, Warner’s contribution to it was 46.

SRH’s openers didn’t add to the aforementioned partnership. In fact, Shikhar didn’t add to the aforementioned score. Seventy-five balls into the chase, Yuvraj and Patel ran him out.

Warner’s half-century – which included three boundaries and as many sixes – came off 41 balls.

He eventually scored 59 off 46 balls, which included the aforementioned number of boundaries, in addition to four sixes. Twenty-two balls after Shikhar’s dismissal, he was caught by Yuvraj. Aaron broke the 26-(Va)run stand.

Naman Ojha, whose 20-ball innings included a couple of sixes, scored 24. Fifteen balls after Warner’s dismissal, he was caught by Yuvraj. Aaron broke the 24-run stand.

Aaron Finch, whose nine-ball innings included a boundary, scored 11. He was unbeaten.

Sammy, whose four-ball innings included a six, was unbea‘ten’.

SRH, who scored 161 for the loss of three wickets off 19.4 overs, had a reason to be in seventh heaven – they won with a couple of balls to spare.

Yuvraj, who bowled 10 wicketless balls, conceded 10.

Abu Nechim, who bowled 14 wicketless balls, conceded 22.

Starc, who bowled 3.4 wicketless overs, conceded 31.

Yuzvendra Chahal and Muttiah Muralitharan bowled four wicketless overs apiece. While the former conceded 32, the latter conceded 26.
